It is a sad tragedy that people perceived and think that you people that are from Africa they new converte the just come to Islam or they don't know Islam or Islam has just brought to them or Dawah has been just given to them. Where has we know for a fact that the prophet (S'A'W) sent his companions to Africa before he sent them to anywhere else. They settled there, they lived there, they graded with the people, they understand the people there, they did dawah. We known when Amr ibn al-as for example, he come to Africa essentially wants to sort of go against Byzantine kingdom at the time and fight them. He can't do that, he needs to cap into resources that are local and resources that are local are the people lived there, the Coptic people that live there and he actually devolves a policy in essence of actually an inclusion and this is why Amr ibn Al-as RTA covers such a huge land, such a huge landmass 622-750 Early Muslim conquest in such a short time, conquest a lot of that land because why? The Muslim that converted, the Muslim that became apart of his army, the tribes, the locals, the kings, the tradesmen, people who knew where to go and where not go, where to settled ,where to give dawah, actually where at the forefront of his army and the same thing goes for Uqba ibn Nafi when he came to Africa and we are still talking in the time of Umar ibn Al-Khattab and the time of Uthman ibn Affan R'T'A and Uqba ibn nafi what does he do? He include the Berbers he has a similar policy as Amr ibn Al-as. He talk to the Berbers, he include the tribes of the Berbers, he actually make them parts of his soldiers, he gives them regiments and they in turned go out and conquer and the Muslims who are spreading Islam and again one more we see the dynamic that Islam again spreads through the Maghreb (Northwest Africa)very fast unnaturally fast and it's again when Uqba ibn nafi is replaced and a policy stops that we don't see that spread again and that stop and so we know from historical anecdotes if we just want to say the "dry history" accounts in essence that when Islam arrived in Africa way before anywhere else in the Hejaz beyond Makkah in essence and when it arrived with the army of the companions and it spread it's through the means of Africans embracing Islam taking ownership of Islam and spreading it and giving dawah. And it's misconception and it's a denigration of Islam itself as well to talk about always and see Muslim from the Continent as a some sort of new comers. Because what you're denying essentially is your history. And in history, whether your an Arab or an Indian, or an African, or a European, it Doe'snt matter who you're. Your history based on Faith is underpinned you knowing the truth (Haq) and Haq comes through this historical anecdotes. So why are we denying a piece of our history? Based on modern racial construct. This modern racial construct and post-colonial construct, it has Been really bad on our Psyche in terms of the way we thinks and our identities.I deal with a lot of Muslims whether they be Black's, whites no matter who they are and we talks about this, and we talks about this and whenever we talks about this, there is an amazement. Why are you amazed? Are they not people like anybody else? Can they not achieved things? Can they not learn? Do they not have Aql and intellect? Just like Alla bestowed upon the progesterone of Adam no matter what the colour or shade they are.it's an inherent sort of a racist view that we have. And we need to sort of, every time we see that, tackle it Allhamdulillahi.
